{"id":12120,"date":"2025-08-21T19:48:49","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T19:48:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.child-destiny.at\/?p=12120"},"modified":"2025-09-07T18:27:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T18:27:28","slug":"warum-patenschaft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/child-destiny.at\/en\/warum-patenschaft\/","title":{"rendered":"Why sponsorships are so important\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Supporting and making a difference together, rather than just saving lives: Why sponsorships are so important<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Text by Maria Knies<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-50 is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-accent-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"http:\/\/child-destiny.at\/en\/therapiepatenschaft\/\">BECOME A THERAPY SPONSOR<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sponsorships are a powerful tool for creating long-term change\u2014not through spectacular individual actions, <strong>but through continuous, reliable support and cooperation.<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the Child Destiny Foundation, we therefore focus on <strong>therapy sponsorhips<\/strong>that give children with disabilities in the Kibera slum access to therapy, care, and a safe place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why sponsorships work so well<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What makes sponsorship so special is the <strong>regularity of the support.<\/strong>Through monthly contributions\u2014whether large or small\u2014sponsors create a stable foundation on which we can plan and expand our work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This <strong>planning security<\/strong> means, for example:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a permanent position for our occupational therapists&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>materials for promoting children's development&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>one hot meal per day for every child&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a safe place where development becomes possible in the first place&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Children with disabilities are particularly affected by social exclusion in Kibera. Therapy is expensive and difficult to access\u2014this is where our <strong>therapy sponsorhips<\/strong> come in.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>No individual sponsorship \u2013 deliberately.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We deliberately refrain from traditional 1:1 sponsorship of individual children. We believe that aid should not be linked to faces or emotionalized in order to justify support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our sponsorships <strong>always support the entire day center<\/strong>so that <strong>all children benefit equally from your sponsorship<\/strong> \u2014 regardless of age, gender, or disability.
